Wu Shan Tou Dam《烏山頭水庫》
|
IntroductionAt the beginning of 20th century during the time when Japan just commanded Taiwan, Chianan Plain was not the Taiwan's biggest granary, but the Japanese engineers and workers who constructed the "Wu-Shan-Tou Dam” managed to change the situation. It not only allowed the farmers to increase the collection of their grains, but also upgraded the thatched cottages to farmhouses because of the abundance of gathered goods. On top of all, people in Chinan Plain did not need to spend 2 to 3 hours carrying drinking water anymore. |
